Smart School

Smart School ltd. was established in 2003 and is today the largest software house in Israel specializing in the development of educational orientated software, with special emphasis on excellence, innovative technologies and provision of reliable service. Among others, the company develops software solutions for timetable scheduling, management of grades and disciplinary incidents, school-orientated websites and more. Recently, the company acquired an additional company, Grad Software and Projects Ltd., including all leading software solutions developed by it: Timetable Scheduling System for timetable planning, Shooter  Shalom and School-Zone for organization and distribution of timetable changes, etc. Timetable scheduling is conducted by leading minds in the field with no less than 10 years of experience.

DEFINITION :
Smart school is a learning institution that has been systemically reinvented in terms of learning- teaching practice and school management in order to prepare children for Information Age.

ADVANTAGES OF SMART SCHOOL:
  • An interactive learning was improved by contact other student through email using smart board
  • to give students a hand-on approach to classroom concepts
  • to equipped with the latest technology
  • to various methods and skills of teaching and learning
  • to provide range of education software for teachers and school
  • to promote student self-learning, more creative and independent
  • students can learn in variety way as they like
DISADVANTAGES OF SMART SCHOOL:
  • higher cost
  • the government spend a lot of electronic facilities and new book
  • the student have no choice on what they have to learn
  • lack of democratization in education
  • lack of technological infrastructure in school at rural area
  • limited internet connectivity
Besides that, Smart School also has some challenges like student feel bored while teaching and learning process. this is because they have lack knowledge about technology. Some teachers also has the same problems. So, their student will feel not confident with their teachers. Teachers must have their own skills in using technology to make creative and effective teaching and learning process. As conclusion, Smart    School's facilities must be improved to give more comfortable lesson session to students.

Data Logging

Data logging is the process by using a computer to collect data through sensor. Besides that, data logging also can analyze data, save the result of all information which was collected. Data logging is commonly used in scientific experiment and in monitoring system. Examples of the types of information a data logging system can collect include sound frequencies, vibration, temperature, pressure, current and so on.

Data logger is an electronic instrument that can record measurements over time. The readings are also will transfer to the computer. But, sensor is a device that converts the physical quantity into electrical signal.

DATA LOGGER

SENSOR
Advantages of Data Logging:
v  To better understanding of scientific experimentation
v  To better understanding of science concepts
v  To more collegial collaboration opportunities
v  To better graphic skills
v  To more interest in practical work
v  Opportunity for interdisciplinary projects
v  To enhanced computer literacy
v  New innovative experiments possible
Disadvantages of Data Logging:
v  Some people may not like to work on computer system
v  To reduced the practice of graphing skills
v  The students may not relate science concepts to microscopic and symbolic system representations
v  To loss of conventional methods of data collection
v  To increase work load of teachers

As conclusion, although the data logging give more advantages but it is still has disadvantages. Some people also do not have computer skills. So they will have problem to use this data logging.

How ICT help scientist?

ICT can help scientist because they need information and communication. By using the ICT, they can prepare experiment, report, letter and question by using word processor. Besides that, they also can get information by using graphic programs. From that program, they can assemble drawings, diagrams, words and photos on pages. They also can communicate with other people by chatting or publish findings on internet.
Besides that, ICT also can help scientist because they need handle and analyses data. They can use database program to organize, store and analyses result. They also can store, analyses and record the result into the table. Apart from that, scientist need model ideas. So, ICT can help them. They just need to use spreadsheet program to draw graph and create mathematical model to test their ideas. They also can calculate and predict their result or model by using modeling program. Furthermore, by using the graphic program, they can create diagrams to see if their works and how that things will fit together. Lastly, they also can create working systems to see how that things work.
As conclusion, ICT gives more benefit or advantages to scientist. The ICT make the scientist’s work to be easier. The ICT also can present the ideas dynamically.

My Philosophy

I want to be a good teacher who are able in teaching and can build up my students to be smart students. So, the to be a good good teacher I  must know and understand my students especially how they develop and learn. I know that every student have their own skills to learn. So, I believe that, it is my responsibility as a teacher to be an effective facilitator. Beside that, I must know the student's interest, abilities and prior knowledge to make creative teaching and learning in class.

Apart from that, a good teacher cannot begin or continue to inspire learning without being a learner. I must to create new knowledge. So, I must continuously examine my teaching skills and find the new ones more creative and interesting skills. Then, I must be a student of society and the constantly changing worlds in which students live. this is because, to remain connected to my students, their lives and the schools in which they will practice of their professions in future.

Lastly, my main goal is the students will be understand the concept in science that is focusing in subject that I teaching. I hope that, I can teach a lot of knowledge and sharing my experiences with them. So, my students will think out of their boarder. Furthermore, I also hope that. my students will responding in what I have teaching and they also can explain what that had learn to their friends. I also will give exercise to them to test their understanding. I hope I can be an excellent teacher in the future :)

Science Educational Philosophy

The Science Educational Philosophy are :

1. Students must truly understand the meaning of "science" and its importance to society.

The study of science must be well positioned in a broader, humanistic context. I like to call it the "big picture." The big picture should illustrate that science is a basic human endeavor that has left a trail of historical change. Science is full of names, faces, and interesting stories that have affected the growth of civilization. The social and economic ramifications of science are ever present; from miracle drugs to the weapons of war, no life has gone unaffected.
The big picture should also include an understanding of the insights and thought processes that unite scientists in every discipline. All scientists are involved in an organized pursuit of answers to questions about our world. A biologist's questions explore the world from a different angle than a physicist. The differences between biology and physics should be made clear. However, students must absorb that all scientists are compelled by an innate curiosity and desire to comprehend and appreciate their world. This curiosity is present in us all and can "catch fire" with the proper inspiration.

2. Students must experience science in order to understand and develop an appreciation for science.

Students enjoy science when they are given the opportunity to experience it and the guidance to enjoy it. Science is a participatory sport. With the proper framework and coaching, a student can embark on a lifetime of independent thinking and learning.

3. New technologies have made scientists more efficient and productive.

Technology can have the same effect on the teaching of science. Technology has made the secrets of the universe increasingly vulnerable. Scientists have more sensitive tools for data collection, more efficient means of communicating, and access to more information than ever before. These same technologies can provide teachers with exciting opportunities for innovation. These technologies also offer students incredible opportunities for exploration. Exposure to these tools will enhance all facets of the education process.

4. The key to good science education is knowledgeable, innovative, and energetic teachers.

The best resources available to children will remain effective teachers, both in the classroom and the parents at home. Good teachers transcend textbooks, laserdiscs, and computers. Their knowledge, enthusiasm, and interest in helping children will always shine through any threatening clouds of mediocrity.

5. The greatest gift that a science teacher can give to a student is the ability to analyze and logically reason.

The highest goal for science educators should not be to create scientists, but to create scientific thought. Most of our students will not become career scientists. However, all of our students can improve their lives by using a logical reasoning process to help them face the myriad of problems and decisions that we call life.
