About SSI 3013
This is reflection about this course. In my opinion, this course is very useful to all students. This is because, in this course I got many new knowledge. For example, I had learn about how to create blog, how to use simulation, and how to do and use data logging. For me, this course must continues for next semester. But, I think there are a lot of assignments for this course. However, all the assignments are related to this course. So, when we done all the assignments, we will be more understand the contents of this course. For me, e-portfolio is the fun assignments although at the beginning I think this assignment is hard. But, after 3 weeks done this e-portfolio, I feel more excited and fun while using it. As a conclusion, the contents of this course are useful to all students especially for future teachers like me.

Introduction to Modeling and Simulation
Model : a representation of an object, system, idea in some form other than of entity itself.
Types of models : physical and mathematical
Simulation :
Types of models : physical and mathematical
Simulation :
- operation of model which is representation of that system
- amenable model to manipulation which would be impossible, expensive, too impractical on system
Applications :
- design and analyze manufacturing system
- evaluate new military weapons system
- analyse financial
- design communication system
- design and operating transportation facilities
Steps in simulation and model building :
- define achievable goal
- put together a complete mix of skills on the team
- involve end-user
- choose appropriate simulation tools
Why teach with simulation?
- students can get deep learning
- students can learn scientific methods
- helps students understand probability and sampling theory
